A relationship.
A season.
A version of yourself you don’t want to lose to time.
You’re not looking for perfect photos. You’re looking for presence. Something that feels like you
and the love that surrounds you.
This work is about slowing down long enough to truly see it — the connection, the devotion, the moments where identity and relationship meet.
Based in Bend, Oregon, Melanie Rising creates poetic portrait experiences rooted in presence, connection, and emotional depth.
Her work centers on the bonds that shape us from wild companionship with beloved dogs to motherhood, partnership, and the quiet transformation of becoming.
Each session is designed to feel collaborative, relaxed, and deeply personal — less about posing and more about being seen.
You don’t need to know how to pose. You just need to show up as yourself.
All of my work begins with embodiment —
how you inhabit yourself, your relationships,
and the moments that shape you.
This work begins with presence.
Before anything else, I observe - the way you move, the energy you carry, the small details that already hold your story.
I guide movement and shape gently, creating space for moments that feel natural rather than performed. Years of experience allow me to see the lines, connection, and beauty that people often overlook in themselves.
You don’t need to know how to pose.
You only need to arrive as you are.
Come exactly as you are — I’ll guide the rest.
"From the initial consultation to the final product, Melanie was a true professional, providing excellent communication throughout the entire process. She made me feel comfortable in front of the camera during both sessions, which allowed me to relax and enjoy the experience. The result was a stunning set of photographs that exceeded my expectations"
